Shirley and Dennis Thibault of D&S Crafts lived most of their lives in Quebec and Ontario, moving to New Brunswick five years ago to retire.
Dennis, who is self-taught, began creating wooden toys 30 years ago. He is inspired by plastic toys, which he recreates in handcrafted wooden form; classics from his childhood and by his customers, young and old! Shirley’s role involves painting and she often lends a hand in the workshop at their home with ideas to keep their offerings fresh.
They hope to continue sharing their craft with the people of Fredericton for many years to come!
The cherry on top is seeing the look of excitement on children’s faces upon seeing their colourful wooden toys, made with love!
