About Us

This is a Local Tradition

The Market is a weekend institution in Fredericton. Every Saturday, this downtown gathering spot is a bustling hub of food and friends, creativity and conversation. Sit down to enjoy a hot breakfast served on-site or wander about munching portable snacks like falafel sandwiches, buffalo burgers and more from Food Alley.

Straight from the Source

The Market is the place to meet growers and makers face-to-face, and sample the best of our local bounty. When you buy direct, you don’t just get the product – you get the story and person behind it, too. Some of our vendors have been coming for generations – they have lots of tales to tell.

Always a Bumper Crop

With more than 200 suppliers from up and down the St. John River – Wolastoq – and across New Brunswick, The Market is made for foodies. It’s the place for seasonal crops like fiddleheads and blueberries, ultra-fresh produce, organic products, top-quality meats and seafood, baked goods, farm-fresh eggs, cheeses, homemade jams, fresh-squeezed juices, New Brunswick wines and ciders, specialty coffee and more.

Our Community, Our Culture

The  Market is about great food – and so much more. It’s a reflection of who we are, a showcase of our increasingly diverse city. Sample delicacies the world over, from Chinese buns to Lebanese stuffed grape leaves and our famous samosas. The Market also values the essential work of charities in our community. That’s why we designate space each week for local non-profit organizations to promote their good work.

The Market After Hours

The Market isn’t just a beloved Saturday morning gathering spot and the best place to sample and stock up on impeccable local food and goods. It’s also a rustic rentable space for concerts and conferences.
