Come to Food Alley and you might just catch Cheryl and Gerard deHarder of Homemade Goodness walking their “dog” (you’ve got to see it to believe it). This fun couple gets a kick out of introducing market-goers to their invisible dog and the occasional sampling of their display only pogo stick by a hungry child.
Their products are homemade, and their specialty, poutine, is made from fresh potatoes (that’s a lot of cutting!), which they buy locally from the market during potato season. They also sell fried Mars bars, a popular treat originating from Scotland; and a few other ”guilty pleasure” foods.
You can’t miss Cheryl and Gerard, just look for the inflatable poutine truck (it’s actually a Christmas decoration, they just keep Santa hidden unless it’s Christmas time!)
